KUALA LUMPUR: Lynas is confident a one month review of the health, safety and environmental aspects of its plant in Gebeng will reconfirm that it is safe and presents no hazard to the community or Lynas workers.

“Lynas trusts that this independent review will help address public concerns in recent times about the health, safety and environmental aspects of this important project,” Lynas said in a statement. It expressed confidence that the one-month review period by the independent panel would not have an impact on the anticipated completion date of the project.

The company gave an assurance that it would continue to work with authorities here, including the Atomic Energy Licensing Board and the Department of Environment, to ensure that the project met all requirements and adhered to international standards.

The company also gave an assurance that it would uphold its strong set of values that include operating in a safe, honest and transparent manner while respecting and contributing to the communities where it operates.
